If necessary, both will cooperate with a terminologist, who will help to find the best matches for every target language so the meaning of the sentence would remain the same.

The project ends with delivery review, which is the last stage of quality control to make sure that the translation meets the customer’s expectations without fail.

As you can see, it is more than simply translating words from one language to another – it is a process involving a group of people who think along, check, localise, and find the best solutions for the particular text. In other words, they do everything that is impossible in machine translation. This classical full service is suitable for complex texts requiring a high level of accuracy, such as technical guidelines and specifications, legal documents and medical materials, advertisements, bioscience texts, and other complex topics where accuracy and the knowledge of terminology play a significant part in quality assurance. Our full service complies strictly with the requirements of the ISO 17100 standard, internationally recognised for translation service quality.

For more urgent projects that do not require the highest level of translation quality, we now offer machine translation post-editing (MTPE).

MTPE is a fast and affordable solution on today’s translation market. This service combines all possibilities of machine translation: translation memories and the best solutions offered by MT and AI. It is ideal for simpler texts where accuracy is not of critical importance, such as internal communication materials, minutes of meetings, etc. Properly edited machine translation is definitely helpful in large-scale projects where time and cost-efficiency are important, such as product and service descriptions that must be published in several languages quickly.

In the MTPE process, we rely on world-class machine translation technology. Its output is edited by our experienced editors, who have completed a special training to learn to identify errors made by the machine swiftly, check each term, and localise the translation, i.e. do everything needed for a translated text that a machine is unable to do. MT offers many advantages and increases the quality of the translation. However, it is still a machine that cannot think like a human and editing is always necessary to ensure that it has not mistranslated or misinterpreted anything. MT is very helpful in ensuring uniform terminology. Terminology in an MT memory is always approved by a terminologist and the customer, ensuring that it is used accurately and consistently within translations.

01. Factors impacting translation cost

The price of translation is affected by several factors. The language pair is one of the most important of them – rare or complicated languages can be more expensive. The complexity of the text also affects the price: technical, legal, and other specialised texts require expert knowledge and the help of terminologists. The translation volume can change depending on the language pair – for example, the volume increases by about 20% when translating from Estonian into Russian or French, whereas it usually decreases by about 10% when translating from German into Estonian. Volume is usually assessed based on character count in the completed translation, where one standard page consists of 1,800 characters, including spaces. The deadline also matters – the general speed of translation is about 6–7 pages per day, but the express service is available for more urgent projects. Design, if necessary, is separately priced, ensuring a high-quality visual appearance for the translated documents. Taking all these factors into consideration, we prepare a quote as accurately as possible.

02. How quickly is a translation project completed?

We do not have translation queues – due to our large database of translators, we are able to begin working on your project right after agreeing on the terms. The deadline for completion depends on the volume and nature of the text, but a translator usually translates 6–7 pages per day. The time for editing and final review of the text is added to that to ensure excellent quality. For smaller translation projects, we recommend allocating at least a working day to that. If you need to translate more than 6 pages a day, you can order the express service, but we recommend allowing a little more time for the best results in the case of important texts. Under special circumstances, we can translate up to 100 pages per day.

03. Confidentiality
